Yosemite National Park in California is one of the true wonders of the National Park System. Rock climbers from all over the world flock to Yosemite to challenge themselves on the towering walls of El Capitan and Half Dome. Backcountry skiers enjoy tours from Badger Pass. Backpackers can enjoy outings on the John Muir Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail. Yosemite has several RV campgrounds for visitors. None of the sites have hookups, but there are dump stations at some of the sites.

Upper Pines Campground

Upper Pines Campground is in Yosemite Valley near Curry Village, and has 238 RV sites that can accommodate rigs ranging in size from 18 feet long to 35 feet long and trailers between 12 and 24 feet long. Each site has a fire ring, picnic table and food locker; food should be stored in the locker to prevent trouble with bear. Reservations are required for the Upper Pines Campground and can be made online. Upper Pines is open year-round. Groceries and showers are available nearby in Curry Village. Several bathrooms with flush toilets and potable water are located at Upper Pines, and there is a dump station. Pets are permitted.

Tuolumne Meadows Campground

Tuolumne Meadows Campground offers visitors a chance to escape the summer heat, as it is located at an elevation of 8,000 feet. The campground has 304 RV sites, seven group sites, and four horse sites. The RV sites can handle rigs up to 35 feet in length. Reservations can be made for half the sites. Each site has a fire ring, picnic table and food locker; food must be stored in the locker to avoid bear problems. A dump station is located just west of the campground, and food is available at the Tuolumne Meadows store. The campground has several bathrooms and potable water is available. The nearest showers are over an hour away in Yosemite Valley. The campground is open from June to September, depending on weather. Pets are permitted.

Bridalveil Creek Campground

Bridalveil Creek Campground is on Glacier Point Road at an altitude of 7,200 feet, about 45 minutes south of Yosemite Valley, and is open from July to September. The campground has 110 RV sites that can accommodate rigs up to 35 feet in length and trailers up to 24 feet in length. No reservations are accepted at Bridalveil Creek. Each site has a fire ring, picnic table and food locker. The nearest showers are in Curry Village in Yosemite Valley. There is a small general store in Wawona, as well as a dump station behind the store. Pets are permitted.
