Dry Lake Campground
Dry Lake Campground is located on National Forest land six miles outside of town, at an elevation of 8000 feet. The campground is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and has pit toilets and water, with eight tent sites. Each site has picnic tables and fireplace pits. Small RVs can also be accommodated, though there are no hookups. All sites are first come, first served, and there is a 14-day limit. Hiking and mountain biking is easily accessed from the campground.

Strawberry Park Hot Springs
Strawberry Park Hot Springs is one of the most popular hot springs in Steamboat Springs. In addition to offering rustic lodging in log cabins and even a renovated train caboose, Strawberry Park has several walk-in tent campsites that are set along the creek 100 to 300 yards down from the main area. Fees include admission to the hot springs. Tent camping is only allowed in the summer. Tent campers need to provide their own gear, and are welcome to bring coolers and camp stoves. There is a one-vehicle limit per site.

Steamboat Campground
Steamboat Campground is located right in town and is more of an amenity-based site than a backcountry camping experience. On the plus side, it is open year round, so if you are looking to rough it while hitting the slopes in winter, this is a good option. Steamboat Campground is a full RV site with 50 amp hookups, but there are also plenty of tent sites available. A swimming pool is open during the summer months, and hot springs are available. The campground provides Free Wi-Fi, showers, laundry, and bathroom facilities. Firewood is available for a fee.
