Cottages in Ocean Beach, San Diego

Ocean Beach is a suburb of San Diego on the Pacific side of the Point Loma peninsula and is a rapidly developing community. While Ocean Beach has been an important community in San Diego since the mid-1900s, it has seen a wealth of revitalization projects and new development since the beginning of the 21st century. Today, Ocean Beach hosts some of the best restaurants, least crowded beaches and most vibrant nightlife in the San Diego area. Ocean Beach is also at the edge of the tide-pool riddled Sunset Cliffs and is home to the only dog beach in San Diego.

The owners of the Ocean Beach Cottages, Bill and Yasmeen Davis, have put a lot of work into restoring their accommodations. The cottages have colorful blue and green furnishings, hardwood floors and decks with a view of the surf. Located only a few blocks from the main beach access and dog beach, as well as Voltaire Avenue--lined with pubs, eateries and boutiques--the Ocean Beach Cottages are in a prime spot for whiling the day away in town or strolling to the cliffs. The cottages are stocked with all the amenities of home, including soap and towels, and have fully equipped kitchens.

Lotus Cottage

The current location of the Lotus Cottage was once a beachside theme park, long since abandoned and built over. Now, right off the sand of Dog Beach, Lotus Cottage has private parking, a yard with a deck and a barbecue and an interior of pine wood walls and open beamed ceilings. The cottage was restored in 2007 and has modern kitchen appliances and a 5.1 Dolby home theater entertainment system. For those interested in the nearby wildlife, the Lotus Cottage is next to the mouth of the San Diego River and a short stroll from the wildlife area, where you can spot birds flocking in the still water. It's also only a few blocks from the Ocean Beach Pier and Sunset Cliffs.
