Pet Friendly Hotels Around Kiawah Island, South Carolina

Kiawah Island is not actually an island off the coast of South Carolina, but a town sitting on the beach of the Atlantic Ocean in the southeastern corner of South Carolina. Within five miles of the city center are parks and recreation, including Beachwalker Park, Night Heron Park, Angel Oak Playground, Marion Square Park, Kiawah's Ocean Course Clubhouse, Kiawah Island Golf Resort and Edisto Beach State Park. Besides the Atlantic Ocean, the region hosts other public waterways including Captain Sam's Inlet and Wadmalaw Sound. Visitors to the region also can take advantage of the Charleston Executive Airport, which is within 20 miles from Kiawah Island. Although most hotels in Kiawah do not allow pets on their premises, some inside and outside the city center do allow pets.

Folly Beach Hotel

The Folly Beach Hotel is a privately-owned and operated hotel, about 20 minutes by car north of Kiawah Island. The hotel accommodates pets on hotel premises, but requests confirmation from the hotel prior to arriving. Outdoor enthusiasts can take advantage of being near public land, since Folly Beach County Park is within three miles. Guests will appreciate on-site amenities including beachfront accommodations, an outdoor swimming pool, fitness facility, concierge services, Internet access and an outdoor restaurant and bar.

The Residence Inn is located north of Kiawah Island, but south of Charleston, South Carolina. Guest rooms come in two varieties: one-bedroom suites and two-bedroom suites. All suites entail fully-furnished kitchens, living rooms and private bathrooms. The Residence Inn accommodates travelers with pets, and also asks customers to call ahead to confirm their plans. The Hawthorn Suites is located about 25 miles south of Charleston, South Carolina, adjacent to the Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site and Fort Sumter Tours. Although the hotel is not located on beachfront property, complimentary amenities guests can expect are Internet access, continental breakfasts, hot tub access, a fitness center, local phone service, morning newspapers, parking and 24-hour concierge services. The Hawthorn welcomes all customers traveling with pets, but charges an extra fee for the accommodation.
