Hotels in Tortuguero, Costa Rica
Tortuguero, where the rainforest meets the ocean in Costa Rica, is best visited during turtle season. Between July and October you can witness thousands of turtles coming to shore to nest during twilight. As there is not much else to do in Tortuguero besides visiting the national park and watching for turtles, the majority of hotels offer all-inclusive package deals. Many include ground transportation to and from San Jose. Meals, a tour of Tortuguero National Park and a guide are generally included in the package rate, but sometimes turtle-nesting tours and other excursions are add-ons.
