Less than an hour drive away from the RV parks in Pendleton, Oregon, are a number of opportunities for outdoor recreation of all kinds during every time of the year. The peak time for salmon in the Umatilla River is October and November. The best time for cross-country skiing over the Meacham Divide is from early December to late March. From April to November you can try your hand at hiking Ninemile Ridge Trail. Strangely, the trail itself is only 7.2 miles.

The 100 concrete RV sites offer a view of the Blue Mountains and there you will find plenty of trails for hiking. The sites offer full hookups with 30/50 amp electric, cable TV and Wi-Fi. Facilities include restrooms, showers, a meeting room with kitchen and barbecue and a laundromat. Each site includes a picnic table and light and each pull-through slot has a tree. Recreation includes a playground for the kids and basketball hoops. During the summer you can also enjoy movie night. An hour away is the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, which has a number of hiking trails.

Wildhorse RV Resort

Wildhorse RV Resort features 100 sites of which 52 are paved and 48 have grassy areas. Of the 100, there are 56 pull-through sites. All sites are full hookups including 30-amp electric, water and sewer. The Pendleton RV resort gives you access to the greater Wildhorse Resort, including 24-hour casino gaming, golf, entertainment and retail shopping. The Wallowa National Forest is 1 1/2 hours away. On-site recreation also includes a heated swimming pool.

The Lookout RV Park

The Lookout RV Park offers nicely paved roads that lead to 331 paved pull-through sites. These sites all offer full hookups that include 30- and 50-amp electricity, sewer, water and cable TV. Free wireless Internet service is provided throughout the park. Facilities include showers and restrooms as well as a building for laundry. About 15 minutes away is the McKay Reservoir so hook up your canoe or jet skis if you've got them. If you don't, then be sure to pack your best fishing gear and you can rent watercraft when you get there. If you don't fish or boat, you always can enjoy a nice relaxing swim.
