An eastern suburb of Denver, Aurora provides several RV parks and easy access to the area's major highways, Denver International Airport and downtown Denver. The community boasts 80 miles of trails and greenways for biking, hiking and jogging. The foothills of the Rockies are about 30 minutes away. Cherry Creek State Park and Aurora Reservoir feature a marina, swim beach and an 8.5-mile bike trail. Fishing, hiking and jogging are also popular at the nearby Quincy Reservoir, adjacent to a 5-acre dog park.

Cherry Creek State Park

One of the Colorado State Parks, Cherry Creek State Park is anchored around an 880-acre reservoir. There are 12 miles of paved bike trails and over 35 miles of multi-use trails for hikers, bikers and for equestrian use. Bird-watching is popular: The park attracts bald eagles, red-tailed and ferruginous hawks, and northern harrier as well as waterfowl. Typical lake activities, including water skiing, are popular summertime activities; ice skating, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are popular during the winter season.

The on-site campground is open all year. It offers over 120 paved sites with 30- or 50-amp full hookups and features restrooms with showers, laundry facilities and a dump station.

Denver Meadows RV Park

Situated along Toll Gate Creek, Denver Meadows RV Park provides over 275 sites with 30- or 50-amp full hookups and features Internet access and laundry facilities. Pets are welcome.

The park offers easy access to Interstate 225 and the nearby Sand Creek Park has access to the city's 14-mile Sand Creek Regional Greenway Trail, a soft surface trail for hiking, biking and jogging that parallels the Sand Creek corridor and runs from Aurora west to the Platte River in Denver.

Flying Saucer RV Park

Located approximately a 25-minute drive from Aurora in nearby Englewood, Flying Saucer RV Park is nestled along the banks of Bear Creek. It has 162 sites with 30- or 50-amp full hookups and can accommodate RVs up to 45 feet. Open all year, it features restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi Internet and allows pets. Fishing in Bear Creek, golfing at Englewood Municipal Golf Course and hiking or biking local greenways are popular activities for visitors.
