This quiet town tucked in the northeastern corner of Louisiana is close to prime freshwater fishing lakes, boating and hiking. Check out nearby Lake Claiborne State Park, where you can swim, water ski, hike nature trails and fish for largemouth bass, bluegill, sunfish and more. You can also hike more than 10 miles of trails at Chemin-A-Haut State Park or bike the trails that snake through the northern Louisiana hills.

Bonnie and Clyde Trade Days and RV Park

If you like flea markets and enjoy being in the center of the action, consider this RV park located at one of Louisiana's largest outdoor markets. The park, about 20 miles from Hodge, is open 365 days a week and has 30 sites with full service and 35 sites with water and 30-amp electrical service. There's a guest laundry on-site, bathhouse and dump station. The 130-acre property of open fields and pine forests has three stocked lakes. Guests are welcome to fish--mostly for catfish and bass---for free. Guests also have free entry to the flea market, held the Friday, Saturday and Sunday before the third Monday of each month. The market features more than 600 vendors, including Animal Alley, with hundreds of pets for sale.

Monroe Shiloh RV Resort

The public is welcome at this longstanding RV park (it has been around for more than 20 years), which is part of the Shiloh RV Club. The resort, located less than 30 miles from Hodge, has full-service, pull-through sites, a catch-and-release fishing lake, outdoor swimming pool, playground, outdoor picnic areas with grills, camp store and guest laundry. There's also a clubhouse with TV, Internet service and a small cooking area. You can fish and boat on the nearby Ouachita River.

Pavilion RV Park

This family-owned and -operated RV park in northeast Louisiana, less than 30 miles from Hodge, is a member of Escapees RV Club, Good Sam's Club and Passport America. All sites are full-service, with 30- and 50-amp electrical service and water and sewer hook-ups. The park has a small store, outdoor swimming pool, two laundry facilities, bathhouse, playground and two recreational rooms for small group gatherings. There are also cabin rentals. Just off Interstate 20, the park is close to several restaurants and shops and 1 mile from the Ike Hamilton Expo Center.
