Several RV parks and RV park and campground combinations serve the area around Granbury, located about 30 miles southwest of Fort Worth. The town makes a good home base for exploration of the region's outdoor opportunities. Lake Granbury, which covers over 8,000 acres, offers boating and fishing opportunities. Granbury is 28 miles from the mountain bike trails of Cleburne State Park and less than 21 miles from Dinosaur Valley State Park.

Bennett's Camping Center

The dealership adjacent to Bennett's can assist travelers with repairs, parts and supplies and will make service calls to your site at no charge. The park has 44 paved spots, with both pull-through and full hookups available. Guests can enjoy Wi-Fi Internet and 50-amp service. The park has a playground for the kids and picnic tables a cookout. A bath house, clubhouse and laundry area are provided for communal use. After a break from the road, head to the 528-acre Cleburne State Park for a day hike or mountain bike ride on the park trails or to fish for bass, catfish and bluegill.

Midway Pines RV Park

Visitors can settle amid the pines at Midway Pines. The park, which features full-hookup spaces, sits near the Squaw Creek Reservoir. Visitors can expect a limited number of concrete pads with patios and 50-amp electric and drive through spots are available. Enclosed RV storage is offered, and boat parking can be arranged. A public laundry facility, showers and restrooms are provided. A common room features Wi-Fi service, television and microwaves, making it a nice place to escape for an hour or two to meet and socialize. Once you have arranged your site, consider a trip to Dinosaur Valley State Park. Visitors can hike or ride the mountain bike trails, swim in the Paluxy River or view area wildlife.

Oakdale Park

At Oakdale Park, RV and motor home sites offer water, sewage and 20-, 30- or 50-amp electric service. The park also provides tent sites. Tent campers can choose more primitive sites or sites with electricity and water service. Screened shelters are available with tables and benches if you need room to spread out for a special celebration. The park has a pool with trained lifeguards on duty. Swimming lessons are offered during summer months. Wood carvers gather at the park weekly and guests are allowed to visit or join in. The park also hosts bluegrass music. Nearby Camp 'N' Fish in Glen Rose allows day visits for swimming, canoeing, tubing and wading; the facility possesses a small, sandy beach. Rental equipment is available or bring your own and pay one fee. Glen Rose is less than 17 miles outside Granbury and less than 5 miles from Dinosaur Valley State Park.
