RV Parks in Duluth, Georgia

RV Parks in Duluth, Georgia
Duluth, Georgia, is a suburb of Atlanta, sitting about 10 miles to the northeast of that city's beltway. For the RV camper, parks in and around Duluth offer a central location for exploring the entire northcentral Georgia area. Duluth is between Lake Sidney Lanier and Stone Mountain Park. Atlanta is just down the highway, and the Chattahoochee River runs right through the area. The town gives an RV camper good access to not just the urban attractions of Atlanta but also to fishing, boating, tubing, whitewater rafting and hiking.

Jones RV Park

The Jones RV Park is only about five miles south of Duluth, placing it near Stone Mountain and 20 miles from Lake Sidney Lanier. The park has plenty of trees and shade, and offers 150 sites with full hook-ups and up to 50-amp electricity. The typical site is 75 feet long. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the park, and cable TV and phone connections are available to long-term visitors. The park's facilities include a coin laundry, bath house, dump station, propane filling station and storage sheds.

Twin Lakes RV Park

Neither of the "twin lakes" referred to in this park's name are Lake Sidney Lanier, but that large lake is less than 10 miles away. Twin Lakes has 130 sites, most of which have full hook-ups. The park has plenty of trees and two small, private lakes that are separated by a dam and embankment. The lakes jointly cover about 13 acres. Catch-and-release fishing is permitted, and because the lakes are on private property, no Georgia fishing license is required. The facilities include a propane-filling station, dump station and horseshoes court.

Stone Mountain Park

A little over 10 miles from Duluth, the campground at Stone Mountain Park has over 400 mixed tent and RV sites. The RV sites come in a range of sizes and have either full hook-ups or just water and electric. Every site comes with a picnic table, fire ring and barbecue grill. The campground is heavily wooded and sits on the shores of Stone Mountain Lake. There is a designated fishing area, but swimming in the lake is not permitted. However, the campground does rent rowboats for fishing and boating on the lake. Free Wi-Fi is available at selected RV sites, and the facilities include a bath house, outdoor swimming pool, coin laundry and sand volleyball court. There is also a camp store, and LP gas, bait and firewood are available for sale.
