RV Campgrounds in Durango, Colorado
Located in the southwestern part of Colorado at an elevation of 6,523 feet, Durango is a mountain lover's paradise, with excellent whitewater boating on the Animas River, skiing at Durango Mountain Resort (also known as Purgatory), and plenty of hiking. Durango is actually the southern terminus of the Colorado Trail, which winds from Denver to Durango.

Durango Year Round RV Park

Durango Year Round RV Park has 34 sites and, as its name suggests, is open for year-round camping. The site offers daily, weekly and monthly rates. Full hookups come with with 50-amp electric, sewer, and water. The site has no Wi-Fi, cable TV, bathrooms or shower facilities, but monthly guests can sign up for a Qwest DSL line, and the site does have laundry facilities. The actual RV sites are pull-through and are large enough for big RVs. Pets are allowed.

Alpen Rose RV Park

Alpen Rose RV Park is one of the larger RV parks in the area with 106 sites. The site has pull-through access and can accommodate bigger RVs. Full hookups with 30- and 50-amp electric, water, sewer and cable TV are available. The park provides free Wi-Fi throughout, has laundry facilities, restrooms, showers and also has a heated pool. Many of the sites are shaded, and a game room is available for entertainment. On-site fishing is also an option. Pets are allowed.

Lightner Creek Campground

Lightner Creek Campground is owned and operated by a couple, Joe and Cheryl Amorelli, who spent several years touring the United States in their own RV. The campground provides a more backcountry feel, with waterfront access on the property and shade sites next to the water. A total of 60 sites with pull-through access and big RV support are available. Full hookups with 50-amp electric, sewer, and water are provided. The site also offers a separate tenting area and log cabins for rent. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the facility, and guests can use bathroom, shower and laundry facilities. For recreation, you can fish in the stream, take a swim in the heated swimming pool or play with your dogs in the pet park.
