RV Campgrounds Near Denver, Colorado
Denver, the Mile High City, is the largest city in Colorado and is a gateway to the Rocky Mountains. Visitors to the region can find skiing in Winter Park, rock climbing in the front-range, and mountain biking in the urban and mountain areas. Denver has many urban activities and attractions, including professional baseball, basketball, hockey and football teams, and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Denver and its surrounding region has many RV parks and campgrounds for RV visitors.

The Prospect RV Park

The Prospect Park is located next to Prospect Park and the Wheat Ridge Greenbelt, which has 250 acres of open space, four lakes and hiking and biking trails. The RV park has sites for large and small RVs and hookups include water, sewer and 30-amp electric. Guests can use the showers, toilets, laundry room and dump station. Pets are allowed if leashed and can be brought to Prospect Park next door where they can run and play.

Dakota Ridge RV Resort

The Dakota Ridge allows visitors access to Denver while being in the smaller bedroom community of Golden, to the west. With more than 100 sites for all size RVs, the Dakota Ridge is a larger RV park. Hookups vary from site to site but include options for 30- or 50-amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV and Wi-Fi. There are sites for full or partial hookups, as well as "dry" sites (no hookups.) All site guests have access to the resort's showers, bathrooms, guest room, laundry, fitness center, pool and hot tub. Pets are allowed, and there is a dog walk area for four-legged visitors to play off leash. The Dakota is within an hour drive to Winter Park Ski Resort.

Dory Hill Campground

Dory Hill Campground sits at an elevation of more than 9,000 feet above sea level in the Rocky Mountains. It is a smaller RV park but offers many amenities. Denver is about a 30-minutes drive (depending on traffic) and mountain bikers can access numerous trails in the area, some from the campground. Hookups include 50-amp electric, water and sewer. The park has bathrooms and showers, picnic areas, and pets are allowed. Most RV sizes can be accommodated at Dory Hill. Rocky Mountain National Park is within a 3-hour drive from the campground, and Buffalo Bill's Grave and Museum are an hour away.
