E.G. Simmons Park
E.G. Simmons Park, operated by the county, is located in Ruskin. The 469-acre park and preserve--situated directly on the pristine, white shorelines of the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay--offers visitors a waterfront campground. The campground offers water, showers and restrooms. Anglers and boaters can utilize the park's boat ramp; fish from the park's fishing pier, or surf fish from shore. Recreational activities include hiking, canoeing, swimming, shelling and bird watching. There is a picnic area, playground and pavilions. The park is approximately 10 miles from Shell Key Park--offshore from Ruskin and accessible only by boat--where visitors can hike, fish, swim and view wildlife.

Edward Medard Park
Edward Medard Park in Plant City offers 281 acres on a reservoir operated by the Southwest Florida Water Management District. The reservoir offers many boating, swimming and freshwater fishing opportunities, and is a favorite spot for local anglers. The campground has water, restrooms and showers, with a picnic area, playground and boat launch. There are several hiking and equestrian trails and a handicapped-accessible boardwalk in the park. The park is approximately 25 miles away from the fishing and boating opportunities in Tampa Bay.

Lithia Springs Park
Lithia Springs Park in the town of Lithia offers visitors a spring and160 acres on the Alafia River. The park encompasses a cypress swamp, sandy hills, and a forest of hardwoods which surrounds the camping area's 40 sites. Campers have electric, water, restrooms and showers. The park has a picnic area, playground and swimming in Lithia Springs. There are trails for hiking and wildlife viewing, as well as a canoe launch where visitors can fish and explore the Alafia River. The park is approximately three miles from Alafia River State Recreation Area where visitors can lake fish or hike.
