Gulf Islands National Seashore
In the Florida District of the Gulf Islands National Seashore, the Fort Pickens Campground sits on a pristine stretch of seashore between the Gulf of Mexico and Pensacola Bay. Primitive camping sites are available on a first come, first serve basis. Campsite fees also include admission to the historic Fort Pickens. Originally completed in 1834 to defend the Pensacola Bay, the fort was used until the 1940s. Gulf Islands National Seashore is National Watchable Wildlife Area, named for the abundance of animal life on the seashore. The park is home to 12 threatened or endangered species, including the Perdido Key Beach Mouse. Gulf Islands National Seashore is also a great place for bird watching.

Lakeside at Barth Campground
A few miles west of the Lower Escambia River and 30 minutes north of Pensacola, the Lakeside at Barth Campground is 80 acres of hardwood and pine trees. The campground features full recreational vehicle hook-ups and tent camping with water and electricity. Three well-stocked fishing lakes are available on site, along with boat rentals. Nightly, weekly and monthly rates are available.

Big Lagoon State Park
Big Lagoon State Park is just 10 miles southwest of Pensacola on the Gulf Beach Highway. The park features 655 acres of saltwater marshes and pine flatwoods, making it an attractive spot to observe many bird species, especially during the spring and fall migrations. All campsites include water and electricity. Popular activities include hiking, fishing, boating, and enjoying the beach.

Navarre Beach Campground
Just 25 miles east of Pensacola, Navarre Beach Campground, features full RV hook-ups and cabin rentals. Amenities include free cable TV, washrooms and laundry facilities, playground and play equipment for children, and a heated pool and hot tub. Cabin rentals are available from single room units to two-story vacation homes.
