Campgrounds Near Melbourne, Florida
Melbourne, Florida, is located on the east-central coast of the state. The area is known as the "Space Coast" because of its proximity to the Kennedy Space Center, just an hour and a half from Melbourne. The city is primarily on the mainland, but there is a small part of the city on a barrier island. Ocean access and sugar-sand beaches provide the water enthusiast with surfing, swimming, snorkeling and scuba, sailing and fishing opportunities.

Wickham Park Campground

The Wickham Park Campground offers sites for most size RVs which include 30- or 50-amp electric, water and sewer connections. Park amenities include showers, bathrooms, pet walk area (pets are welcome), archery range, disc golf course, swimming lakes, playground and horseshoe pits. The area has opportunities for bird watching. There is fishing nearby in the park lakes. Beach access is within a half an hour drive.

Breezy Palms RV Park

The Breezy Palms RV Park is situated between the Indian River, which is across the street, and the Intracoastal Waterway south of Melbourne. Sites come with either 30- or 50-amp electric service, water and sewer hookups. Daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal rates are available. Pets are welcome, and there is a dog walk on the grounds for leash-free walks. Organized activities are offered weekly and include poker nights, potlucks and game nights. There are showers, bathrooms and a laundry facility for guest use. The ocean and beaches are within 5 minutes from the Breezy Palms where visitors can surf, swim or scuba.

Land Yacht Harbor

The Land Yacht Harbor was built from free, volunteer labor. It was built to begin a community of RVers, and the park began construction in 1975. The park catered mostly to Airstream Trailers, and today there are many Airstreams on the grounds. There are sites for non-Airstream RVs. Both transient, short-term stays and long-term to seasonal stays and rates are available. Hookups include 30- or 50-amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV and Wi-Fi. The grounds have a community feel as many residents are seasonal-permanent. There are showers, bathrooms and a laundry room for guest use. Pets are allowed. The Kennedy Space Center is an hour drive from the resort.
