RV Parks near Salisbury, Maryland

RV Parks near Salisbury, Maryland
Salisbury is located almost in the center of Maryland's Eastern Shore, that peninsula of land sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay. That makes it the logical place for an RV camper to set up the rig and take advantage of the area's central location. A short drive from Salisbury are the beaches and wild ponies of Assateague Island on the Atlantic, bird-watching in the marshes of Chesapeake, plenty of fishing, and scenic country bike rides across the peninsula's flatlands.

Fort Whaley Campground

A frontier-western themed campground, Fort Whaley can accommodate 45-foot RVs. The RV sites have full hookups, and there are also rental cabins and sites for tents available. Facilities include a coin-operated laundry, bath house, miniature golf, outdoor swimming pool, and a private catch and release fishing pond. Since the latter is on private property, a Maryland fishing license is not necessary to fish there. Fort Whaley is about 10 miles from Salisbury, and the Wicimonic Demonstration State Forest and Johnson Wildlife Management area are conveniently located in between them. The Atlantic coast is less than 10 miles to the east.
