Litchfield is a town in Meeker County in southern Minnesota, 60 miles west of Minneapolis. There are many lakes in the area including Lake Ripley where the city has many attractions such as golf, baseball, volleyball, tennis, broomball, racquetball, roller skating and hockey. Wilderness activities include fishing, swimming, canoeing and skiing.

Set in three acres of private woods, this pet-friendly cabin has three bedrooms and one bathroom and is open year-round. The kitchen has a refrigerator, a stove/oven, a gas grill, a charcoal grill, a microwave oven and kitchen utensils. The cabin has a spacious bathroom, floor-to-ceiling windows, a hanging indoor fireplace and an outdoor fire pit. Bedrooms have two queen-size beds and five twin-size beds with linen and towels. You will need to bring along your own beach towels. The sitting room boasts three couches, a television and a VCR with video collection. Outdoor facilities include a lake dock with seating and room to tie up a boat/pontoon.

Open year-round, this pet-friendly cabin is on the shore of Lake Sylvia. The cabin sleeps 10 persons. The three bedrooms have bathrooms and queen-size beds. The master bedroom features a gas fireplace and a walk-in closet. The den has a futon and a queen-size air bed. The kitchen has the necessary conveniences including a dishwasher and kitchenware. You will need to bring your own bath/beach towels. The sitting room has a stone fireplace. The cabin has air conditioning, a washer and dryer, a television set and a DVD player. The screen porch and patio area overlooks the lake. Outdoor facilities include a charcoal grill, lawn furniture, a fire pit, docking area and a paddle boat. Outdoor activities include swimming, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, snow shoeing or skiing at Powder Ridge just 10 minutes away.

Beards Resort

This resort has eight cabins with two or three bedrooms. They are not pet-friendly and are open from May to September. Located close to Long Lake with a flat sandy beach, the cabins have air conditioning, ceiling fans, indoor bathrooms, double or queen-size beds and laundry facilities. The kitchens have all modern conveniences including utensils. Other amenities include bed linens, alarm clock/radios, television sets, electric grills and picnic tables and chairs. Be sure to bring your own bath/beach towels. Outdoor facilities include paddle boats, a canoe, a game room and a store with bait and gas in stock. Activities include swimming, fishing and hiking. Individual cabin rental includes a boat with a motor available for rental, paddle boats, a canoe, a crib, highchairs and a basketball court.
