Hotels near Woodroffe Avenue, Ottawa
Woodroffe Avenue, or Ontario Road #55, is an eight and a half mile road, located in Ottawa's west quadrant, and runs south from the Ottawa River Parkway, and north from Prince of Wales Drive. The northern part of the road is lined with public institutions, including two churches, the Woodroffe Avenue Public School and the Woodroffe branch of the Ottawa Public Library, while the middle and southern parts of the road run past Algonquin College, a train station and many residential homes. The only place that offers overnight stay accommodations on Woodroffe Avenue is a branch of the Algonquin College (detailed below). However, if you're looking for more of a selection, a few other hotels in close proximity to Woodroffe also are available.

Algonquin College Residence & Conference Centre

The only hotel on Woodroffe Avenue, the Algonquin College Residence and Conference Centre facility doubles as a dorm room for college students attending Algonquin, as well as a place for overnight or long-term accommodations for anyone else that finds themselves in the area. The facility specializes in hosting groups, conferences and weddings with their on-site meeting facilities, as well as catering and event services, but the hotel also has simpler rooms for the single overnight guest. The five-floor, 525-room property features two-room suites, private kitchenettes, game rooms, a movie theater and a fitness facility.

McKellar Park Suites

McKellar Park Suites is located slightly northwest of the northern-most point of Woodroffe Avenue in Ottawa's West End Area. The property is only two blocks walking distance from the Carlingwood Shopping Mall and two blocks in the other direction from the Maitland Avenue exit on the Queensway freeway (Ontario Road #417). The hotel features one- and two-bedroom suites, which include separate living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and four-piece bathrooms. The property also provides free parking and laundry facilities for all guests. While McKellar Park Suites does not have a pool or fitness facility on-site, the hotel is within two blocks of the Ottawa's YMCA-YWCA complex where guests can pay to utilize the Olympic-size pool and workout gym with a weight room.

Monterey Inn Resort & Conference Centre

The Monterey Inn is located about two miles east of Woodroffe Avenue, on Prince of Wales Drive. The facility was built in 1979 with only a few limited guest rooms, but today, the Monterey Inn features 88 guest rooms along with seven conference and banquet rooms. The rooms cater to one-night stay guests, as well as to groups, wedding parties, and long-term stay guests, and if you're in the mood to splurge, the Monterey Inn also has a few executive suites with balconies that overlook the Rideau River. Every guest receives a complimentary deluxe continental buffet breakfast, to be taken at the La Bodega Lounge, which is located on-site, in addition to the option of room service for all meals. Other hotel amenities include an outdoor heated pool, a fitness center with electronic fitness machines and a whirlpool, and Sunday brunch for weekend guests.
