Delmonico's Italian Steakhouse

The tradition of the Italian steakhouse, originated by the first Delmonico's in New York City in 1837, is alive and well in the upstate area, thanks to the four Delmonico's restaurants in the region. The Albany restaurant is close to the capital and Colonie, and offers large, family-style meals in a welcoming, Italian-themed setting, built around the famous 24-oz. Delmonico's Choice Delmonico Steak. The menu also features a wide selection of other steaks and chops, as well as seafood and Italian staples such as lasagna, antipasto and scampi. The restaurant is only open for dinner every night, as well as lunch on the weekends and a takeout menu is available.

Koto Japanese Steakhouse

A koto is a Japanese stringed instrument and this traditional teppanyaki steakhouse offers transportation from upstate New York to the Far East. The restaurant is open every day for dinner and lunch on every day but Sunday. The menu offers lunch specials like bento boxes featuring teriyaki and tempura vegetables, as well as sushi and sashimi and full dinners. The full dinners take dining to the level of entertainment as your personal chef prepares your filet or lobster along with vegetables, appetizers and fried rice before you at your table. The grills are not available in the afternoon from 3 to 4 p.m. as the restaurant changes from lunch to dinner, but much of the rest of the menu is still available.
