Located in north-central Minnesota, Cushing has ample outdoor recreational opportunities. It's just south of the Scandia Valley and Lake Alexander, but Fish Trap Lake is the major attraction for campers in the area. Cushing has opportunities for fishing, hunting, boating hiking and biking. It is a rural area where you will find quiet campgrounds.

Fish Trap RV Resort

This RV resort is located on Fish Trap Lake and offers ample amenities. The resort has sites shaded by pine trees, hiking trails, a heated swimming pool, laundry facilities, boat rentals, horseshoes, basketball, playgrounds, volleyball and more. It is also free to use the paddle boats and canoes at the marina, and there is a fishing pier. It is 5 miles away from an 18-hole golf course and 15 miles from the Camp Ripley Military Museum.

Campfire Bay Resort

This is another RV resort located on Fish Trap Lake. The park has 14 shaded sites on 5.5 acres. The sites can be rented with or without a boat slip and are exclusive to campers who are parking their RV for the entire season. Each site has hookups for water, sewer, 20, 30 and 50 amps. The resort has boat rentals and is located 2 miles away from an 18-hole golf course and is within a half hour of hiking trails, biking trails, dining and shopping.

Rugged River Resort

Located less than an hour northeast of Cushing, the Rugged River Resort has a quiet location. The 200-acre resort has two RV parks on the property and each has hookups for water, sewer and 30 amps. The park is in an area with fishing for panfish, smallmouth bass, walleye and has extensive boating opportunities on the Mississippi Corridor and Rice Lake. The resort also has a playground, ping-pong, pool, hot tub, hiking trails and biking trails. During the hunting season you can use one of the blinds or tree stands and hunt whitetail deer.
