Campgrounds Near Macon, Georgia
Macon, Georgia is a mid-sized city in the central part of the state. The region was home to the Creek Indians and the nearby Ocmulgee National Monument gives visitors access to their heritage. The Ocmulgee River runs through Macon and offers fishing, boating, kayaking and swimming opportunities.

Forsyth KOA

The Forsyth KOA is located outside of Macon in a quiet, country setting. The KOA has 20-, 30-, and 50-amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV and Wi-Fi sites. RVs of all size can be handled. There are showers, bathrooms, playground, laundry and a guest house with kitchen facilities on the grounds. Nearby Lake Juliette has catfish angling. The movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" was filmed in the town of Juliette, and visitors can drive to the Tara Museum on Jonesboro Road, where "Gone With the Wind" was filmed.

Indian Springs State Park

Indian Springs State Park offers visitors to the Macon region a state run park and campground. There are sites with 50-amp electric and water hookups as well as "dry" (without hookups) sites. RVs of most sizes can be handled. There are showers and bathroom facilities on the grounds. Pets are allowed, but must be leashed while in the park. Picnic areas and covered shelters and fire-rings with grills are available for use. A 3/4-mile hiking trail is in the park. Lake McIntosh, within the park boundaries, has fishing and lake swimming.

Scenic Mountain RV/Cabin Resort

Scenic Mountain RV/Cabin Resort offers visitors a range of services and hookups. Pets are allowed and there is a 40' x 60' shaded dog run. Site hookups include 20-, 30-, or 50-amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV and Wi-Fi. Large RVs can be accommodated. There are five stocked fishing ponds and nature trails on the grounds. Showers and bathrooms, swimming pool, spa, general store, restaurant, laundry room and propane services are all on the premises for guest comfort.
