RV Parks Near Danbury, CT
Danbury, Conn. sits directly southwest of the larger cities of Waterbury and Southbury near the state's western border. The area is close to some popular parks, including the Huntington State Park. The area is popular in the winter for the outdoor activities such as skiing, sledding and snowboarding, but many also visit in the warmer months. Danbury doesn't have any RV parks of its own, but you'll find a few close by.

Gentile's Campground

Gentile's Campground is located 40 minutes from Danbury and is one of the only year-round campgrounds in the state. If you plan on skiing or snowboarding and want to camp, make a reservation here. Water, electric and sewer is available on some RV sites and the campground rents heaters and air conditioners for an additional fee. A chapel, swimming pool, sand volleyball court, playground, tennis court, basketball court, showers, miniature golf and a game room are all available for guests.

Strawberry Park Resort Campground

While it's over an hour from Danbury, some guests don't mind traveling to the Strawberry Park Resort Campground. Special events are held each year, including a bluegrass festival and a Cajun music festival. Each weekend, the resort offers 30 different activities and it has multiple swimming pools, spas, a restaurant, a video arcade and horseback riding. All RV sites come with water, electric, sewer, wireless Internet access and cable television.

Burr Pond State Park

The Burr Pond State Park is located 40 minutes from Danbury and offers camping on-site, though you won't find any amenities, like those offered by RV parks and dedicated campgrounds. The state park offers its own concession stand, canoe rentals, kayak rentals, picnic shelters and fishing and swimming in the lake. Guests also have access to dozens of hiking trails, leading through the woods surrounding the state park.

Aces High RV Park

The Aces High RV Park is approximately one hour from Danbury and covers nearly 100 acres of land, with its own waterfront views. Sewer, electric, cable television and water come with all RV sites and many are located right on the water. A laundry room, swimming beach, playground, game room, showers, restrooms, fishing ponds, hiking trails and paddle boat rentals are just a few of the features at this RV park.
