Junction, Texas Campgrounds
Junction, Texas, is a small town on Highway 10, an hour's drive from San Antonio. This region of the state has the South Llano River State Park and other smaller parks that offer wildlife viewing, nature trails, hiking trails, swimming and fishing. The town drew national attention in 2002 with the release of "The Junction Boys," a movie about Bear Bryant's first football training camp as coach of Texas A&M in 1954.

South Llano River State Park

The South Llano River State Park offers oversize campsites for groups and organizations. All sites have water, electric, a picnic table and fire ring. The state park offers showers, restrooms and a dump station. Campers also have access to activities within the park, including hiking, canoeing, tubing, fishing, wildlife viewing and swimming.

Pecan Valley RV Park

Located a few minutes outside the downtown area is the Pecan Valley RV Park. Pull-through and back-in sites are available and all sites come with water, electric and sewer. Concrete pads are on all spots.

Junction KOA

The Junction KOA offers one-room cabins, tent sites and RV sites. There is a pavilion, laundry room and swimming pool. Activities include volleyball, canoeing, fishing, basketball, croquet and badminton. The park also has an exercise room and playground.

Morgan Shady Park

The park is on the South Llano River and has full hookup sites with water, sewer and electric. The park also accommodates tent camping. The park offers showers and restrooms for campers, but most stay for the proximity to the river. Guests have access to wildlife viewing, swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing and tubing, with rental shops in the nearby area.
