Located in the north-central region of New Jersey, Chester is a little over an hour from the New York state line and the same distance from the Jersey Shore. Farming is the primary business in Chester, and stands with fresh vegetables can be found. There also are fields where visitors can pick their own produce.

Stephens State Park

The park has sites for tents and RVs. The park requires that all guests make a reservation in advance and stay at least two nights. As the sites don't have electricity or water, it's best that you use a generator and a fill-tank. The park allows hunting, fishing, picnicking, hiking and other activities within the park's property. The park is 11 miles from Chester.

Driftstone on the Delaware

The campground, 30 minutes from Chester, is on the Delaware River, with boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing and swimming. The campground features a swimming pool, basketball court, volleyball court, playground and softball field. Full hookup sites come with cable television, wireless Internet, water, electric and sewer. The park also offers primitive camping for tents.

Panther Lake Camping Resort

The resort is 20 minutes from Chester and offers spots similar to an RV park. Each site features water, cable television, electric, a picnic table and a fire ring. The park also rents RVs and cabins. Amenities include shows for kids, a boat launch, science shows, reptile shows, fishing and swimming.

Fla-Net Park Campground

Located less than 10 minutes from Chester, the campground has full hookup sites with water and 30- or 50-amp electric. Monthly rates are available. An adult-only section is available for those without children, but child-friendly features such as a recreation room, game room and playground are also available.
