Emmitsburg, Maryland, is a small community situated near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and the West Virginia state line. The National Fallen FireFighter's Memorial is in Emmitsburg. There are several national parks in the region, including the Gettysburg Memorial. Rocky Gap State Park that is nearby and has 3,000 acres of forest and lakes to explore.

Hagerstown/Antietam KOA

Visitors to the Emmitsburg/Gettysburg region can stay at the Hagerstown/Antietam KOA. The park has sites for all size RVs, including those with slide-outs. Standard hookups include 20-, 30-, or 50-amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV and Wi-Fi. There are hot showers, private toilets, a guest room, laundry room, arcade/game room and boat rentals on the property. Rock and flower gardens accent the premises. Pets are allowed. AAA and Good Sam discounts are available. Conococheague Creek is along the grounds, and guests can inner tube, canoe or swim the creek.

Gettysburg/Battlefield KOA

Just 15 minutes from Emmitsburg is the Gettysburg/Battlefield KOA. The KOA offers full hookups (20-, 30-, or 50-amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV and Wi-Fi) and sites that can handle all size RVs. Pets are allowed. There are showers, private bathrooms, a guest room, a game room and a playground on the grounds for guest use. The KOA offers AAA and Good Sam discounts. The Gettysburg/Battlefield KOA is close to the Little Round Top, Devil's Den and Pickett's Charge Civil War battlefields. Visitors can take a day trip to Amish Country or tour the Hershey Chocolate Plant.

Gettysburg Campground

The Gettysburg Campground is about a 20-minute drive from Emmitsburg. The campground has hookups for 30- or 50-amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV and Wi-Fi. There are sites for all size RVs, including those with slide-outs. Pets are welcome. There is volleyball, horseshoes, a game room, mini-golf, shuffleboard, showers, private toilets, laundry and a picnic and barbecue area. Lancaster County Amish Country makes for an interesting day trip from the campgrounds. There are many Civil War battlefields and historic sites within 15 minutes of the Gettysburg Campground.
