Hope, British Columbia is a small community on the banks of the Fraser and Coquihalla Rivers, about 150 kilometers east of Vancouver. Hope was the town used in the movie "First Blood," and visitors may recognize the bridge Sylvester Stallone walked across during a trip to Hope. In addition to being a popular spot for Hollywood movie filming (parts of "The Thirteenth Warrior" were also filmed in Hope) the region has many opportunities for outdoor recreation. The rivers provide salmon fishing options, rafting and kayaking. Hiking can be found on the trails of the surrounding Cascade Mountains.

Othello Tunnels Campground and RV Park

Othello Tunnels Campground is a family-run campground that offers a range of services to guests. Site hookups include water, electric (30- or 50-amp), options for cable TV and Wi-Fi Internet connections. Pets are allowed but should be on leashes while in the campground. A shower room and private toilets are available for guest use. Othello Tunnels has daily, weekly and seasonal rates. A fishing pond is on the grounds. Fishing is free but caught fish must be paid for; fees are based on size. The 8-kilometer Kettle Valley Railway Trail is close to the campground.

Holiday Motel and RV Resort

The Holiday Motel and RV Resort offers visitors a small RV park. There are several different types of sites, from "dry" (those without hookups) to full hookups that include water, sewer, cable TV and 30- or 50-amp electricity. Management asks that pets be left at home during the peak summer season. Pets are an additional $2 per animal. The resort grounds have showers (closed between Canadian Thanksgiving in early October and Easter), private bathrooms, swimming pool, playground, picnic area, barbecue grills and a guest room with games. Hikers can explore the Sasquatch Caves found a few kilometers outside of Hope in the Cascades.

Wild Rose Campground and RV Park

The Wild Rose is located on the banks of the Fraser River, 5 kilometers west of Hope. RVs of all sizes can be handled at the Wild Rose. Hookups include 30- or 50-amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV and Wi-Fi. Pets are allowed but should be on leashes while in the park. There are hot showers, private bathrooms, a small general store, playground and a guest meeting room on the grounds for guest use. Nearby attractions include the walking tour, "Hollywood of the North," and Harrison Hot Springs.
