Four Seasons Campground
Less than an hour from Carbondale, Illinois, is the Four Seasons Campground. All of the spots at the campground have a secluded feel, with lots of shade trees and peace and quiet. The RV park has 38 full hookup spots, with water and 30- or 50-amp electric hookups, as well as some pull-through sites. The campground was designed for fishermen, with access to the lake, space for boats and a fish cleaning table.

Little Grassy Lake Campground and Marina
The Little Grassy Lake Campground and Marina is around 40 minutes from Carbondale and boasts special outdoor events. Nature talks, nature walks, fishing and canoeing are just a few of the events offered by the campground. Full-service RV spots come with water and 30-amp electric hookups. A dump station, restrooms, shower, bait shop and beach are all available for guests. Guests also have the option of renting a boat or using a boat slip for their own boat.

Crab Orchard Campground
The Crab Orchard Campground is best suited for travelers not looking for many amenities and those who just want to take advantage of the great outdoors. The campground offers RV spots with electric and water hookups, as well as tent spots. Restrooms, showers and a dump station are the only amenities at the campground. Guests primarily stay here for the boating, fishing and hunting opportunities.

Devil's Kitchen Marine & Campground
If you like RV camping but don't have access to an RV, try the Devil's Kitchen Marine & Campground, which provides some rental RVs. The campground covers over 800 acres of land, which also includes space for outdoor activities such as fishing and hiking. The marina offers canoe rentals and rentals of other boats. The campground also has a restaurant, bait shop and small convenience store.
