Anchorage, Alaska, is located along the southern coast of the state. The city is the largest in the state, with a population of 277,000 people, according to the Anchorage Convention and Visitors Bureau. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the Chugach State and Denali National Parks where you will find plenty of hiking and mountain biking, camping, climbing and rafting. You can also see wildlife, including bears, moose, dall sheep and orca whales, year-round. In downtown Anchorage, visitors can check out The Anchorage Museum, featuring native culture and more than 1,000 artifacts. Golden Nugget RV Park

Golden Nugget is located near downtown Anchorage and right next door to a municipal park where pets and children can play. The year-round RV park has 215 sites and is big-rig-friendly. Full hook-ups are available, and sites come with picnic tables. The grounds offer a pavilion for barbecues, heated restrooms with free hot showers, and free coffee. Wi-Fi is also available.

Creekwood Inn RV Park

Those who enjoy walking, jogging and cycling will find Creekwood Inn to their liking. Creekwood Inn neighbors the Chester Creek Trail, part of a 121-mile trail network. The park is also near several restaurants and a shopping mall. Creekwood Inn offers a motel, cabin and 68 RV sites (58 with full hook-ups). They offer free showers and coffee. The park also offers propane gas, a laundromat and fish freezer rental.

Anchorage Ship Creek RV Park

This park is just two blocks from downtown Anchorage, enabling campers to enjoy the city while also exploring outdoor recreation. The park offers full hook-up sites and showers. Those who want to stay plugged into the rest of the world will enjoy Wi-Fi and dial-up modems. Campers may wash laundry in the laundromat and buy gifts at the gift shop. Also, check into the tour reservation service available if you would like guided adventure during your stay.
