Phillips, Wis., is an outdoorsman's dream vacation location. Here you can fish, hunt, boat, hike, bike, swim, ski, ride an ATV, canoe and camp, among other things. All of this is possible because Phillips is located by Wisconsin lakes, namely Duroy, Elk, Long and Wilson. More than 857,000 acres of forest also are in the area, including Chequamegon National Forest and Flambeau River State Forest.

Birch Island Resort

The Birch Island Resort is located right on Wilson Lake, which is actually part of Phillips Chain of Lakes. Wilson Lake is 351 acres of water, offering year-round fishing. The woods around the lake is prime country for hunting and exploring. The resort has a beach area, boat docks, volleyball court and horseshoe pits for on-site recreational enjoyment. The resort includes a cabin complete with two bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Other features are cookware, dishes, utensils, stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, toaster and a TV/VCR. Guests also have access to a 14-foot rowboat, paddle boat, canoe, fire pit, firewood, grill, charcoal, lighter fluid, picnic table and fish-cleaning facilities.

Hidden Valley Inn and Resort

The Hidden Valley Inn and Resort is the perfect place to stay if you like biking, canoeing, hunting and fishing. The Flambeau forest and a golf course are nearby. The resort has cottages located at the edge of the water that have two bedrooms, lakeside screened-in porch, private dock, 14-foot boat, picnic table and kettle grill. Inside the cottage are a fully furnished kitchen, microwave, TV/DVD player, sofa sleeper and bath.

Red Pines Motel Resort

The Red Pines Motel Resort gives you access to numerous activities, including boating, fishing, birdwatching, hiking, biking, hunting, skiing and beaches just feet from the front door. The resort strives to provide a "home away from home" feel. The resort units all have a split-level entry, with one floor holding bedrooms and a full bath and the other holding the living room complete with sleeper sofa and walk-out balcony, dining room, kitchen and half bath. The kitchen has a refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, dishes, cookware, coffee and the fixings. The bedding is furnished as are towels. Some units allow pets.
