Located in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, Granite Falls is one of the largest cities in the area and hosts the county seat. The city is close to the Upper Sioux Agency State Park which has 1,280 acres of grasslands, wetlands, woods, rivers, open prairie knolls, old farm fields and meadows with numerous trails offering horseback riding, hiking, skiing, and snowmobiling. Stay at a lodge cabin in the area and fish for walleyes, northern pike, catfish and carp.

Chippewa Lodge Cabins

These pet-friendly lodge cabins welcome children and have access to a stretch of clean sandy beach and water rafts. The cabins have complete kitchens, carpeting, showers, gas fireplaces, air conditioning, microwaves ovens, television and VCR/DVD players. Most of the cabins have whirlpool tubs and decks with forest and lake views. Although the cabins have bed linens, you will need to bring towels for bathing and swimming. Kitchens have salt and pepper, towels, dishcloths, soap, paper towels, fans and garbage bags. Ask for cribs and highchairs, if required. Activities include fishing, boating, swimming and golfing. Special fishing packages include a fishing boat with 25 horse power motor, fish finders and bait.

Accommodating up to seven persons, this lake lodge cabin has air-conditioning and central heating in its two bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, game room and sitting room. Grand Cottages - Lake Andrew Lodge Cabin

Set among 20 acres of Minnesota forest, the lodge cabin is available year-round and has four spacious bedrooms, a full kitchen, fireplaces, indoor bathrooms and toilets and a sundeck. The lodge has air conditioning, a coffee maker, an iron and ironing board, a microwave oven, satellite television and wireless Internet. This is not a pet friendly accommodation but it welcomes children. Close to Lake Andrew, activities include snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and ice fishing.
