Netcong, New Jersey, is on the shores of Lake Musconetcong, which also gave the borough its name. It is located in Morris Country in northern New Jersey, near Interstate 80. Nearby Hopatcong State Park provides fishing, swimming and boating opportunities, as well as picnic areas and playgrounds. The old-fashioned but spirited Wild West City, a frontier town theme park, has activities for kids including panning for gold, riding a stagecoach and exploring a recreation of 1880s Main Street in Dodge City, Kansas. The Netcong area is also home to a wide variety of restaurants.

Black Forest Inn

The Black Forest Inn is a German restaurant within a few minutes' drive of Netcong. It is open for lunch Thursdays and Fridays and for dinner every day except Tuesdays, when the restaurant is closed. Lunch entrees include seafood dishes along with traditional favorites such as German sauerbraten in ginger and red wine reduction. Mondays, and Wednesdays through Fridays a prix fix menu that features entrees such as Icelandic sole in potato crust with lemon caper sauce is served. Every Friday the Black Forest Inn has a dinner buffet, and on first Friday serves a seafood and fish buffet.

Cambiotti's Tomato Pie Cafe

Cambiotti's Tomato Pie Cafe is open every day, serving their highly celebrated thin-crust pizza, Italian meals and sandwiches. The restaurant, which is 10 minutes from Netcong, serves a wide selection of salads and entrees such as veal piccata and chicken perugini, which is chicken sauteed with shitake mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes and prosciutto in a wine sauce. There is also a large sandwich menu. Also, there's a pizza menu that includes the restaurant's popular Hawaiian pie.

The Clay Oven Indian Restaurant

The Clay Oven Indian Restaurant has large variety of vegetarian, vegan and meat options. It is open daily for lunch and dinner. The centerpiece of the menu is the tandoor dishes, such as tandoori lobster, which is cooked in a clay oven. Vegan options include baingan bhurtha, which is roasted eggplant sauteed with tomatoes, onions and spices. There is also a full array of Indian breads from the clay oven.
