Salem, Massachusetts is located on the Atlantic coast and has a heritage steeped in the ocean. Visitors have opportunities for sea kayaking, whale watching, sailing and scuba diving. The area has many historical sights, such as the Corwin House, the last remaining structure from the witch hunt trials of the 1600s. RV travelers have several options for campgrounds and RV parks in the Salem region.

Little River Campground

The Little River Campground is near Salem and has a full range of amenities. There are sites with 20- or 30-amp electric and water. There are no sewer hookups but there is a dump station five minutes away. Hot showers, private bathrooms and a laundry facility are on the grounds for guest use. Pets are allowed with proper paperwork (tags and health certificates.) Guests have access to fishing and whale watching from the campgrounds.

Winter Island Park

Winter Island Park is run by the city of Salem and has sites with 30- or 50-amp electric and water. There are showers and private bathrooms for guest use. There are several sites that are on the water, and most have picnic tables and fire rings for grilling and cook-outs. Pets are allowed. There is a self-guided hiking trail and a small general store within the park.

Beach Rose RV Park

The Beach Rose RV Park is up the coast from Salem (about 25 to 30 minutes) and has a full range of amenities. Sewer, water, and 20-, 30- or 50-amp electric are standard hookups. There is cable TV and WiFi service available and all sites are level and paved for easy parking. The park is open seasonally from April to November. There is a laundry room, hot showers and private toilets for guest use, as well as a heated swimming pool. Pets are allowed. Surf fishing, boating, whale watching, beach combing and clamming opportunities are available from the campgrounds.
