Situated along the banks of the Shoshone River and named after William Fredrick Cody, otherwise known as "Buffalo Bill Cody," Cody is the Eastern Gateway to Yellowstone National Park. It has long been a symbol of the old American West and travelers can enjoy a visit to the Buffalo Bill Museum & Historical Center, a nightly rodeo and historic downtown district. Located just one hour east of the entrance to Yellowstone National Park, Cody KOA Campground has more than 120 sites with 30- or 50-amp full hookups. It features restrooms with showers, cable TV with HBO, free WiFi Internet, a swimming pool, basketball and sand volleyball courts, and welcomes pets. There are also bicycle and cabin rentals.

Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park is located on the Shoshone River and boasts 360-degree mountain views. It has more than 50 sites with 20-, 30- or 50-amp full hookups and features pull through sites, free WiFi Internet, an outdoor heated swimming pool, indoor hot tub, a playground, laundry facilities, restrooms with showers, an on-site restaurants and allows pets. Hotel and log cabin rentals are also available.

Ponderosa Campground

Ponderosa Campground is centrally located in Cody but offers a secluded and quiet park. There are more than 160 sites with 20-, 30- or 50-amp full service hookups. It features large, level pull through sites, free WiFi Internet, cable TV, restrooms with private showers, laundry facilities, a playground, gift shop, river rafting and Cody Trolley Tours pick-up and welcomes pet. Cabin and teepee rentals are also available here.
