Florida RV Clubs

Florida RV Clubs
Florida is a big state with an excellent highway system that allows travelers to comfortably make it to the numerous RV parks. Florida is a prime destination for RV owners because of the temperate climate during the winter and wealth of recreation. Thousands of miles of coastline mean that travelers should definitely hook up a boat if they have one and there are plenty of hiking trails in the interior. Florida's popularity among the RV crowd also means there are several RV clubs in operation.

Florida Pop-Up Campers

Florida Pop-Up Campers is a statewide club that has been in action since 2001. This group shares a common goal of promoting the idea of camping as family entertainment. The club is also dedicated to revealing the wealth of camping potential offered by the state of Florida. Dues are not required for membership and that membership is termed as "at will" meaning that it can be terminated by the member at any time. Inappropriate action can also result in termination of a member by the club itself. It is assumed that all members who attend rallies or events sponsored by the Florida Pop-Up Campers will behave as unofficial ambassadors representing the goodwill of the state and the club. Requirements for club membership include the necessity of being a resident of the state of Florida, ownership of an active e-mail address and ownership of a qualified camper.

Go-See-Um Sam's

Go-See-Um Sam's is a Florida RV club located in Lee County. This club holds meetings on the third Friday of the month from September to May at a campground located within a 150-mile radius of the county. Most members live in cities like Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres and Englewood. During meetings members can expect to enjoy card games and dominoes and on Saturday night a dinner is prepared with the proceeds going to charities like Dogs for the Deaf, the Salvation Army and Hope Hospice. Go-See-Um Sam's is one of the oldest RV clubs in the state. It has been operating continuously since 1977.

Roamin' Rigs

Roamin' Rigs is what the Tampa Bay chapter of the Family Motor Coach Association calls its RV club. Rallies are held on the fourth weekend of every month. The club takes June to August off from rallying because that is prime travel season for many members. Unofficial summer rallies are held by members known unofficially as the Fellowship Amongst Riggers Traveling or F.A.R.T.S. Events and activities at the Roamin' Rigs rallies vary considerably, but can include anything from card playing to bean bag baseball to bocce ball.
