Ecoplaya Beach Resort is truly a tropical paradise with its half-mile of private beach, flower gardens, swimming pool with two Jacuzzis, and a restaurant serving regional and international dishes. Adding to the island feeling are thatch-covered umbrellas and loungers, whitewashed buildings with red tile roofs and a thatch-roofed bar next to the pool.

The resort has 18 hotel rooms and 26 villas, all equipped with an air conditioner, television, telephone and private bath. All accommodations except the Double Standard and Double Deluxe rooms also come with a kitchenette, which includes a microwave, toaster and refrigerator.

The rooms will accommodate up to three people. For larger parties, or for more space, you can reserve villas that sleep from three to six people. The Full Suite, with its two bathrooms and two bedrooms, sleeps up to eight people.

Besides swimming and snorkeling from the beach in front of the hotel, the resort offers tours for horseback riding, mountain biking, kayaking, fishing and the Isla Bolaños Sanctuary and Refuge.

The Best Western El Sitio Hotel & Casino is reasonably priced and has much to offer for your stay in Liberia. The hotel has two swimming pools, the Restaurant Bar Rancho Italiano next to the pool, a travel agency that can help you arrange daily tours, a car rental and a spa with massage services.

The hotel's 52 rooms are simply furnished, but clean, large and airy. Each room includes a desk area, satellite television, high-speed Internet access, air conditioning and complimentary breakfast buffet.

The Hilton Garden Inn Liberia is a modern-style alternative to some of the other resorts in Liberia. As you walk into the hotel, you're greeted by a large open lobby and contemporary tables and deep chairs arranged in conversational groups.

The rooms are also roomy and furnished with the ergonomic beds and chairs, tables, and dressers you'll find in any Hilton Hotel. Guest room choices include a king-size bed or two double-size beds. Suites also are available with a separate bedroom and living room.

Each room includes a microwave, refrigerator, 32-inch LCD television, two telephones with data ports and wired and wireless high-speed Internet.

On-site you'll find a fitness room, a pool, the 24-hour Pavilion Pantry convenience store and the Carao Restaurant and Lounge. Room service is available from the restaurant.

The hotel concierge can help you arrange excursions to attractions such as the Africa Mia Wildlife Park, the Rincon de la Vieja National Park, or you can take a stroll around the Plaza Central de Liberia.
