RV Parks in Port Lavaca, Texas

The seaside city of Port Lavaca sits in the center of the Texas Gulf Coast, with Lavaca Bay to the east and San Antonio Bay to the west. The area, along the migratory flyway, is a popular birding destination. Some 400 species of birds visit each year; it's also the wintering home for endangered whooping cranes. Beaches and fishing are also among the possible activities, and you can rent a boat to explore the bays and barrier islands,or join a guided, deep sea fishing excursion. The area has a variety of accommodation options.

Lighthouse Beach RV Park

This oceanfront RV park, owned and managed by the city of Port Lavaca, sits on the shores of the Texas Gulf Coast, adjacent to the city park. There are 55 sites, with water, sewer and 30- or 50-amp electrical service, including 20 pull-throughs. There's a swimming pool and beach, boat dock and boat launch, shower rooms, guest laundry and a fish cleaning stand. You can fish from the pier or join a nearby guided saltwater fishing excursion. There's also a nature trail and boardwalk along the shoreline and through the salt marshes, with interpretive signs; it's a popular birding trail.

Lavaca Bay RV Park

This quiet RV park sits in an open, grassy area minutes from Port Lavaca's top beaches, fishing and birding sites. There are 60 sites, including 51 that can accommodate pull-throughs. There are full hookups with 30- and 50-amp electrical service and free cable TV, modern restroom and shower facilities, a recreation room and picnic areas with BBQ grills.

Lonestar RV Park

This no-frills RV park is located a mile from the center of Port Lavaca, within a few minutes driving distance to Port Lavaca city park, beaches and fishing. There are 36 sites with full hookups and cable TV. Each has a large cement slab and patio and can accommodate pull-throughs. There are no public restrooms or shower facilities in the park. A grocery store and gas station are a short walk away.
