Activities include a playground for the kids, an Olympic-sized swimming pool and a recreation hall. A volleyball court can also be found on the property. Travel across the cove and you will find a boat ramp, mountain bike trail, marina and a place for swimming. A few minutes drive will present the opportunity to go tubing or canoeing down the Guadalupe River. When you head back you can relax with a book or magazine from the library or settle down in front of the TV or enjoy a game of pool.

Canyon Lake Resort

Canyon Lake Resort has 419 level sites with full hook-ups so you can take advantage of the resort's private 10-acre lake. Take the bridge to the gazebo on the resort's island for a picnic or get there using a paddleboat. The large pool is shaped like the Lone Star State and there is a 10,000-square-foot recreation hall where you play eight-ball or just sit back with a book. One interesting aspect that the owners added to this RV campground is a fully equipped woodworking shop. Nearby attractions include the hiking trails at the Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, the renowned World Birding Center and the chance for fishing and boating along Padre Island National Seashore.

The Mermaid's Cove

The Mermaid's Cove advertises itself as the spot where Canyon Lake begins. This RV campground is located on 14 acres of property, and has 30/50 amp electrical hookups, laundry facilities and free wireless Internet service. The sites are well shaded and have large grassy areas holding sizable picnic tables. You'll find a public boat launch to take and an on-site live bait store to prepare you for a great time fishing on the lake. If fishing is too tame then be prepared to hit the river for a good time canoeing, jet skiing, tubing or rafting.
