America's Bistro
America's Bistro is a casual, but romantic restaurant filled with a variety of different entrees. There are French and Italian selections, fish dishes, and also wild game, like ostrich. The ambiance is quiet and romantic, with a flower-lined walk leading to the front door. The dining room inside is elegant, and the lighting is low, but not so dim that guests can't read the menu. With an ample wine list and full bar to pair with a meal, a long, leisurely meal is encouraged. This is a local favorite restaurant, and the pasta is known as the best in town, with ample portions and a great dessert selection. On weekends, there is piano entertainment, and the piano player takes requests.

The Homestead Restaurant is a local favorite because of the home-style cooking, ample portions and wide variety of menu items. It's also a date-night favorite because of the dark wood tones and subdued lighting, in addition to the private booths. There are steaks and chops, Italian pasta dishes, and German schnitzels in the entree section, and appetizers like quesadillas, stuffed portabella mushrooms and spinach rolls. Lunch items, including steak sandwiches and chicken vesuvio sandwiches, as well as the traditional burgers and fries are available. The restaurant is open seven days a week, and also offers catering.

La Villetta Restaurant
La Villetta Restaurant is just a touch outside of Kankakee, in the small town of Bradley, Illinois, but worth the 10-minute drive. It has been serving Italian food in the same location for more than 17 years. The atmosphere is cozy and casual, and the lights are dimmed in the evening when the candles are lit. With a completely homemade menu, the restaurant offers traditional Italian fare as well as steaks and seafood all at moderate prices. The restaurant also offers catering at the Kohl Center in Kankakee for up to 375 guests.
