Glenside is a town in Montgomery County, on the outskirts of Philadelphia. It is close to the Fort Washington State Park where George Washington stayed in 1777. The park has an observation deck where birders can watch migrating raptors and look down on the butterfly garden. Sledding, tobogganing and cross-country skiing on Militia Hill are available during the winter. Although there are no motels in Glenside, there are several affordable options in the surrounding community, less than 10 miles away.
