In addition to an ever-changing featured items list, favorite meals include Roasted Long Island Duck, Fresh Lamb Chops, three cuts of Prime Rib, Fresh Sea Scallops and Maple Dijon Salmon. For those with hearty appetites to match the hearty down-home atmosphere, be sure to start with the Shrimp N' Bacon, Crab Cakes or piping hot New England Clam Chowder. Pair your entrée with a side of Oven-Roasted Aussie Tomatoes (served warm with sweet onions, bleu cheese and fresh basil) or Grilled Garlic Bread, or opt to have your Prime Rib or Filet Mignon topped with Button Mushrooms or Gorgonzola Cheese Crumbles. Your entrée will include a fresh salad bar as well. If you are in the mood for fine Italian food following a long day of swimming along the shoreline of Lake George, head over to Mario's Restaurant, a Lake George Village fixture since 1954. Voted Best Italian Restaurant in the Best of Lake George 2009 (according to LakeGeorge.com), Mario's features a wide selection of both Italian and American fare, sure to please the choosiest of palates. Start off with an order of Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Fried Mozzarella Sticks or Garlic Bread to whet your appetite. Choose from one of Mario's Pasta Favorites, which include Baked Three Cheese Lasagna, Baked Manicotti Parmigiana, Baked Ziti Ala Mario, Jumbo Cheese Ravioli, Fettuccine Al Fredo, Tortellini Al Fredo or Marinara and Eggplant Parmigiana. All are served with a tossed salad or soup. You won't have to worry about going hungry at Mario's. If you want something a little more unique than pasta, opt for the Chicken Parmigiana, Shrimp Marinara, Veal Cutlet or the Chicken Saltimbocca, which is sautéed with Marsala wine, prosciutto ham and mozzarella, served on top of spinach.
