Ash Fork, Arizona, is a small town west of Flagstaff in Yavapai County. The historic Route 66 passes through Ash Fork, as does Interstate 40. Nearby Kaibab and Coconino National Forests are to the east, with Humphrey's Peak and Bill Williams Mountain serving as a backdrop to the town. Other landscape highlights in the area are the Cathedral Cave Preserve and Dante's Descent, estimated to be 380 feet deep. Nearby attractions include the San Francisco Peaks, Fairfield Snow Bowl, Lake Mary and the Grand Canyon.

Route 66 Inn

This inn is located in the historic district of nearby Williams, about 19 miles east of Ash Fork on Interstate 40. Built in the 1930s, the Route 66 Inn has kept its charm of days past. Grand Canyon Hotel

The Grand Canyon Hotel is a two-story European-style boutique hotel and is the oldest hotel in Arizona. Located just two blocks from the train station in Williams, the hotel is in the middle of shopping and dining in the historic town. Guests can choose from 25 individually decorated rooms that feature themes such as Mexican and Oriental. The hotel has a cottage, hostel rooms, a loft, and standard rooms with twin, full, queen or king beds and private baths. There is also the Swede Suite, a two-room suite with a wet bar, refrigerator and private bath with claw-foot tub. Free wireless Internet, a beer and wine bar and business center are also part of the accommodations. The Dara Thai Cafe serves lunch and dinner.

Grand Canyon Railway Hotel

Tucked against the Ponderosa pine forest in Williams, the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel was designed to resemble the original train depot. Guests can choose from standard rooms and suites, plus the exclusive Rail Baron Suite. Standard rooms include amenities such as two queen-size beds and television, while suites are furnished with Southwest decor and include two queen-size beds, couch, chair and kitchenette. An indoor pool, hot tub and horseshoe pitch are on-site. Spenser's Pub serves light fare and has an array of fine spirits and beer.
