Ellenburg lies in the northeast corner of New York State on the edge of Adirondack Park. The preserved land in this state park covers more than 6 million acres, about the size of neighboring Vermont, and it is the largest protected area in the contiguous United States. The park features the entire Adirondack Mountain range and outdoor activities for summer and winter. Lake Champlain sits about 40 miles to the east of Ellenburg, offering boating, fishing, nature trails and a sand beach.
