German Restaurants Near Putnam County, Georgia
Putnam County is located in a rural area in north-central Georgia, centered around the county seat of Eatonon. For visitors interested in the outdoors, there are many opportunities for recreation available. The biggest draw is Lake Oconee and the Oconee National Forest that borders it. Both offer camping and hiking opportunities. Lake Oconee is a popular fishing lake. Several golf courses also are near the lake. If you are interested in German food, some choices are within a short drive of Putnam County.

Monique's German Restaurant

Monique's German Restaurant is a family-owned German restaurant about 40 miles outside of Putnam County. The interior tries to invoke a sense of German with displays of German steins and bottles of German beer, while German music from the owner's record collection is piped through the dining room. The specials of the house are German sausages, including knackwurst and bratwurst served with potatoes and warm, red cabbage German cole slaw.

Kurt and Vreny's Restaurant and Biergarten

Kurt and Vreny's Restaurant and Biergarten has a unique layout, including room for special events, to go along with its authentic German menu. Kurt and Vreny's has five private dining rooms as well as two dining rooms for the public, along with an outdoor pavilion for seating of up to 100. The restaurant has a number of German schnitzels available and also has a specialty menu, including Zuercher Kalbsgeschnetzeltes, a veal and mushroom dish with cream sauce, and Rinds Roullade, which is rolled steak filled with onions, bacon and pickles. Kurt and Vreny's is in Duluth, about 60 miles from Putnam County.

The Village Corner German Restaurant‎

The Village Corner German Restaurant‎ is a former bakery that has been converted into a cozy German family restaurant that hosts Sunday brunch and dinner six nights a week. With long tables and German knickknacks filling the dining room, The Village Corner offers traditional German items, including wiener schnitzel and a variety of German sausage dishes. Diners can choose from bratwurst, Weisswurst, knackwurst and frikadellen. The rest of the menu, including appetizers, is filled with European choices, including escargot. The restaurant is located in Stone Mountain, Ga., about 50 miles northeast of Putnam County.
