Taiping is the second largest city in Perak, Malaysia, and is known for its gardens, night safari, Buddhist retreat and for being the home of Bukit Larut (Maxwell Hill), the oldest hill resort in Malaysia. Hike to the top of Bukit Larut or visit the Taiping Lake Gardens. Swim in Coronation Swimming Pool and enjoy its ice cold mountain spring water. Take a guided tour of the Matang Mangrove Forest In Taiping itself, visit Perak State Museum, Malaysia's first museum, or shop at one of Taiping's 15 night markets. The city has several good hotel choices.

The Hotel Seri Malaysia Taiping is an ideal location for hiking the eight hours to the summit of Bukit Larut or spending an afternoon strolling around the Taiping Lake Gardens.

The Hotel Furama

The Hotel Furama has a choice of standard, superior, deluxe or family rooms. Each room features en suite bath, TV, complimentary in-room Wi-Fi internet, beverage making facilities with cookies and air conditioning. Breakfast is not included, but there are many restaurants within walking distance, so finding a Malaysian or international breakfast is not a problem. The Hotel Furama is close to Taiping Lake Gardens and within walking distance of Bukit Larut, where you can hike or take a Land Rover to the summit to enjoy the view.

The Panorama Hotel

The Panorama Hotel is in the center of Taiping, close to shopping malls, restaurants and cafes. The hotel's guest rooms are standard, moderate, deluxe or suite rooms. Standard and moderate rooms are basic, featuring only an en suite bath and private telephone. The deluxe and suite rooms also feature a refrigerator, TV, beverage making facilities and includes a complimentary breakfast. From the Panorama Hotel, it's only a few minutes to Bukit Larut, to many of the area's jungle walks, or to natural waterfalls where you can swim or sunbathe.
