Ship Inn and Hotel

The Ship Hotel is located in a 1750s Coaching Inn. There are seven rooms ranging from singles to family rooms that can sleep up to four people. Some rooms provide views of the countryside. There is a patio and beer garden with a water fountain and heaters on chilly nights. The on-site restaurant offers sandwiches and beer as well as dinner and wine. There are daily specials, fresh fish dishes and a children's menu. Entrées include wild rabbit braised in cider, thyme and cream and pan-fried calves' liver with smoked bacon. A Baileys and brioche bread pudding is served for dessert.

The Coppleridge is set in an 18th century farmhouse in Shaftesbury, less than 5 miles from Gillingam. The Inn is surrounded by 15 acres of woodlands and gardens. An on-site bar serves home-cooked traditional meals featuring game and fish with vegetarian options as well.
