The small town of Bellevue, Idaho, calls itself the "Gateway to the Sawtooth Mountains," as the Sawtooth National Forest is located 16 miles to the west. Friedman Airport is near Bellevue, and Big Wood River borders the town, offering riverfront walking paths and fishing access. Bellevue and the neighboring town of Hailey offer visitors more casual and affordable accommodations than Sun Valley, and those driving to Sun Valley will pass through both towns.

The Bell Mountain Inn offers clean and affordable rooms with refrigerators, microwaves, cable television, wireless Internet access and coffee makers. Guest rooms with living rooms, fully equipped kitchens, and DVD players are available for those considering a longer stay. On-site amenities include use of a barbecue and access to nearby Wood River walking and biking trails. Silver Creek offers nearby fishing opportunities for guests, and Sun Valley Resort is 17 miles north on Highway 75. Dining options within walking distance include a bar and grill and pizzeria.

Airport Inn

The hotel nearest Bellevue, just inside Hailey's city limits, is the Airport Inn. A complimentary express breakfast is delivered each morning to each guest room and rooms include coffee makers. The Airport Inn offers guest rooms with kitchenettes, double rooms, or suites. Amenities include free wireless Internet access, air conditioning, voice mail, a sun deck and an outdoor Jacuzzi. Suites feature a wet bar, sitting area, fireplace and king size bed. The Airport Inn is located adjacent to Friedman Memorial Airport, four miles north of Bellevue, and one block from the Wood River Trails. Wood River Inn

Wood River Inn is a locally owned hotel offering 58 guest rooms and suites and a variety of recreational activities to visitors. Bicycle rentals are free for guests to use on nearby trails, and the hotel's owners offer to help coordinate golf, tennis, skiing, parachuting, gliding, hiking or ice skating activities. Hotel amenities include complimentary continental breakfast, wireless Internet access, a heated indoor pool and Jacuzzi, business center, storage lockers, ski lockers, laundry facilities and freshly baked cookies each evening. Room types include double queen, king, Jacuzzi suite, executive suite, kitchen suite and a fireplace suite. All rooms offer a refrigerator and microwave and suites offer a separate sitting area. Wood River Inn is located in downtown Hailey on Main Street and the closest restaurants offer pizza and sub sandwiches.
