Set at the base of the Rocky Mountains, the Bluffs is a nickname for bustling and outdoorsy Jefferson County, Colorado. Just 18 miles outside of Denver, and at an elevation of 7,293 feet, the Bluffs attract visitors who swarm to the area for the adventure. They hike through pine forests, fish the Clear Creek Canyon, bike miles of single-track mountain trails and go white-water canoeing. Jefferson County also has 21 golf courses, and horseback riding locations. Just a few minutes from the famous Red Rocks amphitheater for live concerts and plays, the Bluffs offer hotels and accommodations to suit the adventurous traveler.

Candlewood Suites--Golden

At the Candlewood Suites Denver-Golden-Lakewood, rooms are spacious, comfortable and equipped for longer-staying guests looking to explore the gateway to the Rocky Mountain region. Each suite includes a full kitchen and work desk and guests are granted access to the hotel's fitness center or to the more full-service gym at the Point Athletic Club a half-mile from the hotel. Homewood Suites by Hilton South Jefferson County

Newly opened in the fall of 2009, the Homewood Suites Denver-Littleton hotel in Jefferson County offers 84 guest suites including nine, two-bedroom suites with living rooms and bedrooms. Each accommodation includes a full kitchen, coffee maker and free high-speed Internet access. Guests can use the hotel's fully equipped fitness center 24 hours a day, and the indoor pool and hot tub, or even can play some roundball on the outdoor basketball court. The Homewood Suites provides visitors with a complimentary breakfast daily, and alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages and a light meal are offered in the reception area Monday through Thursday. The 1,000-foot property affords guests incredible views of the Rocky Mountains and the foothills of Ken Caryl Village. Double rooms, as of January 2010, start at $91 per night.
