Angel Fire, New Mexico, is situated in a high mountain valley in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in norther New Mexico. The area is noted for great skiing, mountain biking, hiking, golfing and fishing. Located 25 miles from Taos and 30 miles from Red River, Angel Fire is the perfect place to stay to enjoy three different ski areas. Eagle Nest Lake provides good fishing and excellent wildlife viewing, with elk watering in the evenings during the summer. Cabins are available in a variety of price ranges with varying amenities.

The Retreat at Angel Fire

The Retreat at Angel Fire is a full-service lodge, providing individual cabins for rent. Each cabin boasts a fireplace for the cool evenings and a queen-size bed. The kitchens are completely outfitted, and an outdoor barbecuing area is available. Located 3 miles from Angel Fire, the area is prime for wildlife viewing in the early mornings and late evenings. There is a play area for children. Prices range from $119 to $159, depending on occupancy and amenities. The retreat only takes reservations by phone or walk-in.

Angel Fire Mountain Rentals

Angel Fire Mountain Rentals is a property management company. It has listings of available properties, but offers properties in other areas in addition to Angel Fire. It provides properties close to the ski area and some located more remotely. Some of the rentals are "pet friendly" but make sure this is agreed to during the reservation process. Laguna Vista Motel & Lodge

The Laguna Vista Motel & Lodge is located in downtown Eagle Nest on Hwy 64, 11 miles from Angel Fire. It sports a Wild West motif with individual sportsman cabins available, as well as rooms. The Laguna Vista Lodge is noted for reliving the history of the area, with a saloon and restaurant that were built in the 1890s. Eagle Nest Lake is noted for fishing, with ice fishing available in the winter. The Laguna Vista Lodge is 10 minutes from the Enchanted Forrest cross-country ski area, 10 minutes from Angel Fire ski area and 20 minutes Red River ski area. This place is fun and takes visitors back to the Wild West days of old. Rates vary for the cabins ranging from $85 to $125 per night, double occupancy.
