Pizza Restaurants Near Edgewater, Chicago

The community of Edgewater lies on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan on the north side of Chicago, Illinois. Just seven miles from downtown, Edgewater has a close-knit, neighborhood feel with all the activities and commerce of the city. Hike and bike along the lake shore, or jog along the 1.8 mile trail at nearby Warren Park, which has nearly 90 acres of lush parkland. Head down Lake Shore Drive and visit Lincoln Park with its many miles of trails and views of the lake. No visit to Chicago would be complete without trying the city's famous pizza, and there are several pizzerias in the Edgewater area.

Calo Ristorante

This family-owned restaurant has been serving pizza and authentic Italian cuisine since 1963. Recently renovated, Calo Ristorante is nicely decorated with hand-painted murals, exposed brick walls and photos of Old World Italy. In 2005, Calo was selected by the Chicago Sun Times as the best place to go for "Real Chicago Pizza." Eat in or take out Calo's pizza, and choose from thin crust, pan or stuffed with traditional toppings. Try toppings like roast beef, ricotta cheese, artichoke or shrimp, as well. There's also a huge variety of pasta dishes plus seafood entrees, appetizers, salads, soups and rice dishes. Dress is casual, but ditch the bike shorts.

Pizzeria Aroma

With over 50 pizza toppings, fresh dough and homemade sauce, Pizzeria Aroma is another good stop for authentic Chicago pizza. You can top your pizza with pine nuts, calamari or roasted red peppers, or stick to pepperoni, sausage and onions. Gino's North Pizzeria

Gino's has a full bar and Chicago-style, deep dish pizza, along with pastas, sandwiches and salads. Gino's crust is homemade, and the prices are very reasonable. The bar has a wide selection of domestic and imported beer, and liquors; be sure to take advantage of daily drink specials. Gino's has a unique, '30s-style speakeasy feel, and dress is casual.
