Steak Restaurants in Globe, Arizona

Steak Restaurants in Globe, Arizona
Located in the heart of Tonto National Forest and featuring views of gorgeous mountain vistas, the former mining camp that evolved into what is now the town of Globe, Arizona, is centrally located near endless water, hiking and cave-exploration activities.

Adjoining Globe is San Carlos Apache Reservation, whose attractions include hiking, rafting, kayaking, canoeing, lake and river fishing, and big and small game hunting. The reservation also includes many historic sites and ruins, as does Besh-Ba-Gowah Archaeological Park, also near Globe.

The town is small, with slightly more than 7,000 residents, according to the 2005 U.S. Census. It's also charming and its elevation--3,500 feet--ensures generally cooler and wetter temperatures than you'll find in several other areas of Arizona. That makes Globe a great place to stay before setting off on outdoor adventures, but after a day of whitewater rafting through Arizona's Salt River Canyon, you will be famished. Fortunately, there are great places to get steaks in Globe.

Top of the Heap--Crestline Steak House

Crestline Steak House is the only true steak house and among the nicest restaurants in town, so at just about any visit you'll find locals celebrating proms, birthdays and wedding anniversaries. Fortunately, Crestline does not disappoint. Great steaks, stiff cocktails and homemade ice cream (the oatmeal flavored is to die for) are served, and prices are quite reasonable compared to the big city steak houses.

Sopranos-Style Steak--De Marco's Italian Restaurant

Though most go to De Marco's Italian Restaurant for the pastas, pizzas and other Italian dishes, very good 12-ounce rib-eye and New York steaks are also on the menu. And they are less than $20 each (2010 prices).

Comfort Food--Country Kitchen

Steak choices at the Country Kitchen, which specializes in "country comfort," include the Country Choice Classic Sirloin, an eight-ounce slab topped with the chain's trademark Onion Tanglers; a Steak and Shrimp Combo that pairs the eight-ounce sirloin with three breaded jumbo shrimp; and a nine-ounce Flat Iron Steak topped with Onion Tanglers.

A Delightful Side--Jerry's Restaurant

The streak dinner served at Jerry's Restaurant is fairly pedestrian. Not bad, but not special either. However, the cornbread will have you coming back for more.
